A British success story from Higher Education

A survey and league table of the best Universities in Europe has been published

Britain has all the top three, four of the top five, seven of the top ten, and 25% of the total list of the top 200 Higher Education institutions in Europe.

Even allowing for the problems with all league tables, that is an excellent result.

Incidentally, I would caution either side against hailing this as an argument in the EU referendum debate.

Much of this success is down to fantastic work by people in the British Higher Education sector. But if you ask the people running those institutions I will bet you almost every one of them will give credit, as the Vice Chancellor of the University where I am a member of court certainly does (I recently discussed it with him) to the work the EU does supporting science.
