You couldn't make it up

I was astonished to read here that Russia Today, the Kremlin's English-language propaganda outlet, has accused the Simon Wiesenthal centre of anti-semitism.

One charge that even the most severe critics of Russia's Vladimir Putin have never made against him is that he is personally anti-semitic. But there are worrying signs of that kind of prejudice in some areas of the former Soviet Union and "Russia Today" appears to be part of the problem rather than the solution.

Perhaps it is time for Mr Putin or members of his government to have a "gentle word" with Russia Today about what on earth they think they are doing broadcasting this kind of incendiary nonsense.
